Ross and Janet have lived in Scotland for over 25 years. Both have Scottish forebears, and Janet’s mother was born near Paisley. Ross was brought up near Newcastle, and Janet in Wetherby. They met at a cricket match in the Yorkshire Dales. |
They
have 4 daughters:- Charlotte, Fiona, Penny and Heather between the ages
of 25 and 34. Charlotte is a qualified Architect and sculptor and recentley
won a scholarship to the 'Slade' in London to do an MA in Fine Art. Fiona
the mother of two daughters, Lucy and Sophie, is qualified in fashion
design, jewellry and silversmithing and a number of her paintings are
displyed at Eastlochhead. She is married to an interior designer. Penny
is qualified in nursing and the teaching of various outdoor pursuits.
Heather is at Edinburgh University where she will graduate in June 2004
with an Honours Degree in Ecology. All have travelled abroad extensively
and have been to school, studied, worked and visited North and South America,
Europe, Southern and East Africa, India, Hong Kong, Vietnam, thailand,
China, Australia and New Zealnad. |

Ross is a qualified town planner, landscape architect and tourism consultant,
and until June 2000 was a senior partner in the local and international
practices he established. Janet is qualified in catering and hotel management,
and also wanted to establish her own business. Ross and Janet are partners
in the East Lochhead Enterprise, and also Ross Anderson Consulting. East
Lochhead is also the base for a minerals planning consultancy in which
Ross plays an active part.For relaxation, Ross and Janet take season tickets
to Scottish Opera and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and are keen
followers of Scotland Rugby team with visits to Dublin a bi-annual highlight.
They are active supporters of village societies and social events, and
enjoy their visits to the Brown Bull Pub. |

Ross is also an active Rotarian, and enjoys the job of hosting and looking after Rotary Ambassadorial Scholars, post-graduate students from all parts of the world who come to study at university in Glasgow, and members of Group Study Exchange Teams. Ross is president of his club 2003/4, namely Gryffe Valley (www.gryffevalley-rotary.org.uk). |
